Occupational Therapy
A breakdown of Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy helps children learn, play, and grow every day. Our therapists support skills like playing, dressing, writing, and interacting with others, while helping kids manage sensory challenges and emotions. We work closely with families to make therapy fun, meaningful, and part of everyday life—so every child can thrive, feel confident, and connect with the world around them.
Meet our experts!
Dr. Destinee Rhodes, OTD, OTR/L

Greetings caregivers, families, and members of the intervention team!
As the new Director of the Occupational Therapy (OT) Department, I am truly honored to serve and make a difference in the Twin Cities community. With over 20 years of experience working with children, 10 years working with individuals with Autism, and 4 years specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), my passion lies in helping each client reach their fullest potential.
Throughout my career—both before and after earning my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy—I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals diagnosed with ADHD, ASD, Down syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, atypical chromosome patterns, and other developmental and neurological conditions.
At The Bridge Autism Clinic, the goal of Occupational Therapy is to promote Participation, Independence, and Connection (PIC)—empowering clients to engage meaningfully with their world. We achieve this by assessing, analyzing, and implementing individualized treatment plans focused on emotional identification and regulation, social interaction, fine and gross motor skills, reflex integration, and cognitive development.
Here at The Bridge, our Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) teams work collaboratively to provide an intensive, family-centered support program designed to include clients, caregivers, and the therapy team.
If you’re interested in learning more about our services, please don’t hesitate to contact The Bridge Autism Clinic—we’d love to connect with you.
